The Central Government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, is dedicated to the development of the North-Eastern region of India. As part of this commitment, Arunachal Pradesh in the North-East has received a significant development boost. Union Road Transport and Highways Minister, Nitin Gadkari, has announced that the Central Government has granted approval for the construction of seven bridge projects in Arunachal Pradesh. These bridge projects will be undertaken at a total cost of Rs 118.5 crore.
It was further revealed that these bridges will be erected as part of the Setu Bandhan Scheme. Nitin Gadkari expressed in his statement, “In the fiscal year 2023-24, we have sanctioned seven bridge projects at a total cost of Rs 118.50 crore for the state of Arunachal Pradesh under the Setu Bandhan Yojana.”
The aim of these projects is to enhance connectivity in the region and stimulate economic progress. These initiatives align with our dedication to enhance the overall standard of living and foster socio-economic growth in Arunachal Pradesh.
In the specified areas, there will be the construction of two concrete bridges spanning the Pacha River. Moreover, three bridges are scheduled to be erected along NH-313, connecting Roing-Anini Road in the Lower Dibang district to New Chidu village via NHPC Colony.
Khandu, the Chief Minister, conveyed his delight through a social media post and extended his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi. CM Pema expressed that the Setu Bandhan Scheme has successfully bridged the connectivity gap, and he appreciates Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s steadfast dedication to the comprehensive development of Arunachal Pradesh. The newly constructed bridges will not only simplify the lives of our citizens but also stimulate the local economy.
