Ambuja Cement Plans Rs 1,000 Crore Investment for Cement Grinding Unit in Jharkhand

Adani Group’s Ambuja Cements announced a Rs 1,000 crore investment plan for establishing a cement grinding unit in Jharkhand’s Godda district. The proposed unit, with a capacity of 4 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA), is awaiting necessary approvals, according to a statement by Ambuja Cements Ltd (ACL).

The strategic location of the project, in close proximity to Adani Power (Jharkhand) Ltd, aligns with an environmentally sustainable approach for disposing of fly ash and contributing to the circular economy, the statement mentioned. The cement grinding unit is expected to create direct and indirect employment opportunities for over 2,500 individuals.

Ambuja Cements currently operates two cement plants in Jharkhand, boasting a combined capacity of 6 MTPA. The decision to invest in this new project reflects the company’s confidence in Jharkhand’s abundant resources, robust infrastructure, and skilled workforce.

Ajay Kapur, CEO of the Cement Business at Ambuja, expressed optimism about the project, stating, “We believe that Jharkhand holds immense potential in terms of resources, infrastructure, and skilled manpower, making it an ideal location for this project. We look forward to working closely with the state to ensure the successful implementation of this project.”

Furthermore, Ambuja Cements, along with its subsidiary ACC Ltd, recently acquired Sanghi Industries Ltd, which boasts a substantial capacity of 74.6 MTPA through 18 integrated cement manufacturing plants and 14 cement grinding units spread across the country.
