Centre Approves Upgradation of 108 Roads in Uttarakhand Under PMGSY

The Centre has granted approval for the upgradation of 108 roads in Uttarakhand under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Union Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Giriraj Singh issued the approval letter, outlining the upgradation plans.

The project involves the upgradation of 108 roads with a total length of 1,197.207 km in Uttarakhand. The estimated cost for this initiative under PMGSY-III is Rs 967.73 crore. Of this total cost, the Centre will contribute Rs 803.85 crore, and the remaining Rs 163.88 crore will be borne by the state government.

The approval takes into consideration the challenging terrain of hilly areas, which are prone to natural disasters each year. Acknowledging the difficulties faced by people in the hills, the approval aims to improve connectivity and infrastructure in these regions.
