DBL Unveils Final Segment of Indore Metro Package IN-02A

On Wednesday, Dilip Buildcon Ltd. (DBL) marked a significant milestone by launching the last of 1871 precast segments for the construction of Package IN-02A of the Indore Metro Yellow Line. This segment spans 5.29 km, connecting ISBT Metro Station to Mumtaj Bag Colony Station.

Package IN-02A constitutes the inaugural civil package of the 33 km Indore Metro Phase 1 project, which will create a ring line linking Palasia, Railway Station, Rajwara, Airport, and Bhawarsala via 30 stations. Construction of the elevated viaduct for IN-02A, comprising 179 spans, commenced in 2020.

All segments, measuring 8.5m wide, were manufactured at DBL’s casting yard located along the Super Corridor.

Awarded by Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Ltd. (MPMRCL) in October 2018, the contract for Package IN-02A amounted to Rs. 228.96 crore. With an initial construction timeline of 27 months, the project is currently 66 months in progress, significantly behind schedule.

Within this section, eight stations are under construction by URC Constructions, a sub-contractor of RVNL, at ISBT / MR 10 Flyover, Chandragupta Square, Hira Nagar, Bapat Square, Meghdoot Garden, Vijay Nagar Square, Radisson Square, and Mumtaj Bag Colony.

In March, DBL achieved another milestone by launching four 36m long steel composite girders over the Western Railways’ tracks in the MR-10 neighborhood.

RC Construction completed casting their final segment for Package IN-03 (ISBT – Gandhi Nagar) back in March. We can anticipate its launch within the next 2-4 months.
