IMC identifies top 20 property tax defaulters

Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has issued a list of top 20 property tax defaulters and instructed the officials concerned to approach them to pay around Rs 52.75 Crore of dues.

According to senior IMC officials concerned, the civic body has around Rs 750 Crore to be recovered as property tax due by end of March in this calendar year.

Of them, there are as many as 20 property tax account holders, who have a total due of Rs 52.75 Crore due as property tax on colonies, schools/education societies, mall, and club.

Besides, the corporation has also calculated a due of around Rs 200 Crore on different government departments/authorities/agencies, but some of these also have some dues at part of IMC and thus, a mutual solution is likely between them to settle the accounts.
