JCB India Unveils Cutting-Edge Excavator Lineup in Pune, Paving the Way for Infrastructure Development

JCB India, a prominent manufacturer of earthmoving and construction equipment, recently showcased its next-generation range of excavators at its facility in Talegaon, Pune. Notably, the company introduced its first tracked excavator in India more than two decades ago and has gone on to produce over 40,000 of these machines in the country.

JCB India’s CEO and Managing Director, Deepak Shetty, emphasized the pivotal role these excavators have played in India’s infrastructure development over the past two decades. These excavators are manufactured at JCB’s state-of-the-art facility in Pune, with a strong emphasis on local production. Moreover, these machines are not limited to the domestic market alone, as they are also exported to more than 80 countries, aligning with the vision of a self-reliant “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” (self-reliant India).

Shetty further highlighted that the demand for infrastructure development activities is poised to increase significantly, and these excavators are well-positioned to lead this development. JCB India has made substantial investments in designing, engineering, and manufacturing these machines to meet global quality standards, all accomplished in India.

During the event, the company showcased a diverse lineup of 16 different excavator models. This range encompasses a 1.6-tonne mini excavator, suitable for smaller applications, all the way up to a robust 38.5-tonne excavator designed for bulk excavation and mining projects. Importantly, these machines have been meticulously engineered to meet the specific needs of Indian applications. To ensure their quality and performance, the structures and designs are rigorously validated at the test track located in the research center at Pune.
