Mahindra World City Developers Commits Over Rs 1,000 Crore Investment in Tamil Nadu

Mahindra World City Developers Limited (MWCDL) has recently inked a pact with the state of Tamil Nadu, committing investments exceeding Rs 1,000 crore over the next five years. This substantial investment by the real estate and infrastructure giant is anticipated to create employment opportunities for more than 2,000 individuals within the state. The announcement coincides with the launch of Origins by Mahindra – Phase II at Eliambedu village in Chennai, serving as the focal point for this significant financial commitment.

Having established a successful presence with the initial phase, Mahindra’s Origins has become a prominent industrial hub, spanning 307 acres, and has attracted esteemed Japanese and Taiwanese enterprises. Renowned companies such as Yanmar Engine Manufacturing India Pvt. Ltd., Nissei Electric India, USUI Susira International, Mitsubishi Electric, OMRON Healthcare, Track Designs India, INTJR Precision Technology, Autogrip Machinery India, Masano Seiki Pvt. Ltd, and Ashirvad Pipes have already chosen this location for their operations.

Amit Kumar Sinha, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Lifespace Developers Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “As we extend our footprint with Origins by Mahindra Phase – II, the Integrated Cities and Industrial Clusters (IC & IC) vertical of Mahindra Lifespaces continues to accelerate business efficiency and improve go-to-market with plug and play infrastructure.”

Sinha further highlighted the conducive business environment in Tamil Nadu, emphasizing that the state’s commitment to fostering business growth enhances Mahindra Lifespaces’ confidence in expanding its operations. The company has played an integral role in Tamil Nadu’s business landscape, and this move aligns with the government’s dedication to propelling business development within the state.
