UP’s GBC 4.0 Set to Unveil 14,000 Projects Worth Rs 10 Lakh Cr on Feb 19

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government is poised to initiate a new phase of development with the Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC) 4.0, scheduled for February 19. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will preside over the event in Lucknow, where Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) totaling Rs 10 lakh crore will be unveiled, covering 14,000 projects.

Anticipated to generate 33.50 lakh employment opportunities in the state, the investment projection for GBC 4.0 is five times greater than the cumulative investment of over Rs 2.10 lakh crore implemented in the previous three groundbreaking ceremonies.

More than half of these projects, approximately 52 percent, will be launched in western Uttar Pradesh. The Purvanchal region, encompassing the eastern parts of the state, will witness the implementation of 29 percent of the MoUs, while 14 percent will be in Madhyanchal, and 5 percent in Bundelkhand. These agreements were initially signed during the Uttar Pradesh Global Investors’ Summit-2023 in Lucknow in February 2023.

The February 19 event is expected to draw around 3,000 attendees, including prominent industrialists, representatives from 500 companies, foreign investors, ambassadors, high commissioners, and other distinguished guests.

The state government spokesperson highlighted that a significant portion of the investment, accounting for 19.24 percent, is allocated to the housing sector. Additionally, 15 percent of the investment is directed towards the renewable energy sector, 13 percent in manufacturing, 10 percent in IT and IT-enabled services, 7.83 percent in logistics and warehousing, 7.5 percent in energy, and 6.01 percent in food processing.
