The Centre has granted approval for designating the southern portion of Hyderabad’s Regional Ring Road (RRR) as a national highway, following a request made by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy during his meeting with Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari in Delhi on Tuesday.
“After the meeting, the union minister instructed the NHAI (National Highways Authority of India) officials to prepare the proposals to declare the southern section of RRR as a national highway,” stated a release from the state government.
In addition to the RRR matter, CM Revanth Reddy urged Gadkari to authorize the expansion of national highways in Telangana and the elevation of several crucial state highways to national highway status. The chief minister provided a list of state roads earmarked for expansion into national highways, emphasizing their significant need for NH status.
