Mahindra Logistics Limited (MLL) disclosed its plans on Tuesday to construct a new warehousing facility in Phaltan, near Pune, with a substantial investment of Rs 170 crore. Spanning an expansive 6.5 lakh square feet, the facility will be developed in two phases.
The initial phase, encompassing 3.5 lakh square feet, is slated to become operational by the close of 2024, as per the company’s official statement.
Mahindra Logistics is positioned to oversee inbound logistics, manufacturing, and distribution solutions for a diverse clientele in the automotive and manufacturing sectors within the region. The Rs 170 crore investment, contributed by the company and its partners over multiple phases, will cover the development of the new facility and associated infrastructure.
Rampraveen Swaminathan, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Mahindra Logistics Ltd (MLL), remarked, “To enhance our capabilities and meet the rising demand, we are expanding our multi-client warehousing network across India. Our latest facility in Phaltan is strategically located to augment the overall business ecosystem for our valued clientele in the region.”
Phaltan’s strategic location, in close proximity to key customers in the auto Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and components sectors, adds to the significance of the new facility, according to the company’s statement.
