YashoBhoomi Inauguration: The Prime Minister also inaugurated the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line from Dwarka Sector 21 to a new metro station named ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’.

On September 17, 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially opened the initial phase of the India International Convention Centre, known as YashoBhoomi. Spanning a massive area of over 8.9 lakh square meters, YashoBhoomi has now become one of the largest MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) destinations globally.

Delhi Metro connectivity to YashoBhoomi

Today, after the inauguration of the new metro station at Dwarka Sector 25, YashoBhoomi will be directly connected to the Delhi Airport Metro Express line. In addition to this, the Prime Minister also unveiled the extension of the Delhi Airport Metro Express line, which now reaches a new metro station named ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25.’

This development includes an enhancement in the operational speed of Metro trains on the Airport Express Line, increasing it from 90 to 120 km/hr. This improvement will significantly reduce travel time. The entire journey from ‘New Delhi’ to ‘Yashobhoomi Dwarka Sector 25’ is now estimated to take approximately 21 minutes.

YashoBhoomi Convention Centre: Key Features

  • The Yashobhoomi Convention Center boasts a substantial seating capacity of over 11,000 delegates, offering a total of 15 convention rooms, a grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms.
  • Official reports highlight that the Convention Center at Yashobhoomi showcases the largest LED media facade in the nation.
  • Incorporating elements inspired by Indian culture, the convention center’s construction features terrazzo floors adorned with brass inlays that depict rangoli patterns. Additionally, there are suspended sound-absorbing metal cylinders and illuminated walls adorned with intricate patterns.
  • The primary auditorium at ‘Yashobhoomi’ can comfortably seat 6,000 individuals, while the grand ballroom provides room for an additional 2,500 guests. Additionally, there’s an expansive open area extension that can accommodate up to 500 people.
  • ‘Yashobhoomi’ also boasts one of the world’s most extensive exhibition halls, spanning a vast 1.07 lakh square meters. These halls will be utilized for hosting exhibitions, trade fairs, and various business events. They are seamlessly connected to a grand foyer area, featuring a distinctive copper ceiling designed to filter natural light through numerous skylights.
  • Innovation shines in the auditorium at ‘Yashobhoomi,’ which is equipped with an advanced automated seating system. This system allows for a flexible setup, enabling a flat floor or an auditorium-style tiered seating arrangement to accommodate various seating configurations. Moreover, the use of wooden floors and acoustic wall panels within the auditorium guarantees a world-class experience for all visitors.
