Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal announced on Saturday that Maharashtra will host the country’s largest industrial park. During a press conference, Goyal, who represents Mumbai North in the Lok Sabha, highlighted that this industrial park is part of a larger initiative involving 12 new industrial parks unveiled by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the recent Budget.
These industrial parks are being developed under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme (NICDP), aimed at creating job opportunities and enhancing economic growth, thereby contributing to overall socio-economic advancement.
Goyal emphasized that the establishment of these 12 industrial parks reflects the government’s commitment to employment, infrastructure, and urban development priorities. He praised the Budget presented by Sitharaman as ‘financially prudent,’ noting that it avoids populist measures and focuses on strengthening the Indian economy’s core fundamentals. He stressed that a strong economic foundation is crucial for building a prosperous future, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India.
